McPhillips Beach is a hidden gem located on the Oregon Coast, nestled away from the more frequented tourist spots. This secluded beach is part of the Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area in Pacific City. If you ask me about it, I would say it's a place you have to visit if you are on the Oregon Coast.
On one of our trips, we were looking for a special place along the Oregon coast, somewhere peaceful and untouched. That's when we found McPhillips Beach. We didn't know much about it; it just showed up on our phone map, and we decided to check it out. Driving there was easy, and we loved how simple it was to just drive up and park on the sand. It was exactly what we wanted: a quiet spot where we could listen to the ocean and relax. McPhillips Beach became our go-to place for escaping into nature without all the crowds. It's become a favorite part of our trips to the coast, a place where we can slow down and enjoy the day.
Our visits to McPhillips Beach have evolved into a treasured routine. Each trip to the coast includes a stop for what has become our quintessential beach meal: fish, shrimp, asparagus, and tomatoes, all sourced from local markets. Cooking and dining here, with the expansive ocean view before us, elevates every bite into something truly memorable. The freshness of the seafood, combined with the sounds of the sea, the caress of the ocean breeze, and the intoxicating mix of nature's scents, makes for the most delightful meals we've ever had. It's a feast for the senses, unmatched and unforgettable.

While overnight camping isn't allowed, the day offers ample time to explore, relax, and immerse oneself in the serene beauty of the Oregon coastline. The absence of restrictive signs or designated parking adds to the sense of freedom and ease that defines a day spent here.
The convenience of nearby campgrounds means extending the coastal experience is easy, but McPhillips Beach holds a special place in our hearts. It's where we've made memories, created traditions, and found a sense of peace and joy in the uncomplicated pleasure of being by the sea.
